*We see the dislike the tribunes have towards Caesar and how the commoners love him.
*We learn that Caesar is superstitious. Caesar is warned to beware the Ides of March (15th); he doesn't seem concerned.
*Caesar is offered the crown three times and refuses. Cassius tries to convince Brutus that Caesar should be killed.
* Brutus says that he will not betray his honor and loyalty to Rome.
*That evening, the weather is violent.
*The plotting against Caesar continues.

Notes on Tragedy---Julius Caesar

tragedy--presents the downfall of a dignified character who is involved in historically or socially significant events. This fall is usually caused by a flaw in his character.

tragic hero--the main character, dignified who has a downfall based mainly on a poor character trait. He/she evokes both pity and fear in readers because the audiences realizes the struggles faced by him are necessary parts of human life.

tragic flaw--whatever is wrong with his character that causes his destruction--usually leads to an error in judgment.

Write a controlling idea essay between 1-2 pages long on the following topic:
