*Titinius takes Cassius' sword and kills himself.
*When Brutus realizes he has lost he asks 3 friends to kill him but they refuse. He convinces Strato to do it.
*Antony and Octavius find Brutus' body. Antony, knowing that Brutus was a valiant defender of Rome, delivers a tribute befitting so honest a man.

Verbal irony--the effect achieved when a speaker says that opposite of what he or she means
example:Antony uses verbal irony, calling Brutus and Cassius "honorable men" to incite the mob.
Dramatic irony--the effect achieved when the audience has information that a character(s) doesn't have.
example:The reader knows that Cassius sent the letters to Brutus, but Brutus believes that they are from Roman citizens

Summary for Act 3 ---copy into flip book
Caesar doesn't read the warning note and they stab him. As Brutus thrusts in his knife, Caesar says, "You too Brutus?" Marc Antony, flees. Brutus persuades the conspirators to allow Antony to live and speak at Caesar's funeral. Antony pretends to be loyal to them.
Brutus speaks to a gathering of citizens at the public forum in order to explain the conspirators' actions. He succeeds and the people love him. Antony gives his speech next and turns the crowd against them and encourages them to kill the conspirators. (they are easily swayed)
Rome is in upheaval. The mobs are out of control.

Summary Act II
Brutus debates whether or not to help kill Caesar. He reads the letter and it convinces him to lead the plot against him. He insists they not harm Antony. They decide they will kill Caesar tomorrow, March 15th, by the "eighth hour". Portia Brutus' wife demands to know what is wrong with him. Calpurnia begs Caesar not to go to the Capital because of the strange happenings. He decides to go when he hears he may be king. Artemidorus has written the names of the conspirators on a paper which he plans to hand to Caesar. The soothsayer warns him again.
