In ch. 2, pg. 13 the narrator states Onkonkwo's fear "lay deep within himself"... "It was the fear of himself, lest he should be found to resemble his father."
1.What internal conflict is Onkonkwo having? Do you think he will be able to resolve it? What kind of person has he proven himself to be so far?
2. Have you ever struggled to be the person you wanted to be? Or the reverse---struggled against being the person people thought you would be? Explain.
3. Do you think it is difficult for kids to either be like, or unlike their parents? Why?
