Copy the definition of memoir into your notes:
A memoir is a form of nonfiction in which the writer recalls significant events and people in his or her life. NOT HIS/HER WHOLE LIFE STORY--THAT WOULD BE AUTOBIOGRAPHY.
Homework:
In class we talked about the effect of setting on the characters. Think about the memoir you will be writing. Now, describe two of the settings where your memoir will take place. Give me a vivid description of what each one: looks like, sounds like, smells like, tastes like?, feels like, and the effect that it had on you. (So, 2 settings, two descriptions, two effects)

Comparatives/Superlatives ---Comparisons
Please copy these notes:
The comparative is the name for the grammar used when comparing two things.
*She is better than me at tennis.
*He is more mature than I am.
In the superlative you are talking about more than 2 things, and how one is the best, worst, etc.
*She was the best friend I ever had.
*Of all the students she ran the most quickly.
Hw: Use the superlative, to begin a memoir about a significant person or event in your life. For example: the most important person, the event that made the most significant impact on you, the best time of your life, etc.
