In ch. 2, pg. 13 the narrator states Onkonkwo's fear "lay deep within himself"... "It was the fear of himself, lest he should be found to resemble his father."
1.What internal conflict is Onkonkwo having? Do you think he will be able to resolve it? What kind of person has he proven himself to be so far?
2. What do you predict will happen to Okonkwo's behavior when he feels he is being like his father or that those around him are? Why would you say this?
3. Have you ever struggled to be the person you wanted to be? Or the reverse---struggled against being the person people thought you would be? Explain.
